This was our first attempt at a beard comb. The difficulty was having to mill both sides of the design. So we had to edit in custom tabs and pegs to be able to flip the comb over and run a unique pass for the back of the comb design. With some friction fit cnc’ing we were able to use 1/4 aluminum pins to keep the stock in place and seamlessly mill both sides.
The stock used was a walnut / white oak strip that we had left over from a cutting board.
“Que ta barbe devenir sauvage”
is french for “Let your beard go wild”
In future attempts we will try to fill the text carve with an inlay. It was a fun and educational process.
